The Client: American Honda Motor Company, Inc, is the North American subsidiary of the Japanese public multinational corporation Honda Motor Company Ltd, primarily known as a manufacturer of automobiles and motorcycles. Honda has been the world’s largest motorcycle manufacturer since 1959, as well as the world’s largest manufacturer of internal combustion engines measured by volume, producing more than 14 million internal combustion engines each year.

The Challenge: As use of the internet and the proliferation of web-enabled mobile devices became the norm in many of Honda’s markets, the company realized that it required a strong online footprint in order to grow and evolve alongside web technologies that would provide unprecedented access to their target demographics. Honda was in need of not only a web-presence, but an ongoing public relations and marketing strategy for the web, that would be able to seamlessly integrate with creative campaigns in the future.

The Solution: CPI worked closely with American Honda’s Torrance Corporate Leadership Team to develop a long-term strategy with immediately executable online initiatives that created a robust presence ecosystem for Honda. The online ecosystem aimed to have Public Relations, Marketing Platforms and Technical Information across all of Honda’s brand assets, including Honda Automotive, Honda PowerSports, Acura Automotive, Honda Racing, Honda Marine, Honda Engines, and Honda Jet. The online ecosystem allowed quick and seamless communication across all of Honda’s brands with their target demographics through the internet and all internet enabled devices.

The Results: Since the launch of the campaign, Honda’s web assets have seen tremendous growth in traffic, and the platforms have allowed Honda’s creative marketing teams to deploy campaigns across multiple brand assets, and multiple demographics with ease. Communication and marketing targeted at both current and prospective clientele has been streamlined, with robust analytics and reporting solutions provided to management, allowing them to assess the success and ROI on all campaigns at an unprecedented level.
